Review Ultra Thin 7000mah External Battery Pack Power Bank Backup Charger for Iphones, Samsung Galaxy, Htc, Motorola, Droid, Google Smartphones, Android & Windows Cell Phones, Amazon Kindles & Mp3 Players, Black

The PLEMO Ultra Thin 7000mAh external battery has a very nice design. It's undoubtedly the thinnest battery pack that I've seen to date measuring only .4" thick. It's about 5.5 inches long and 2 3/4 inches wide. It weighs 6.75 ounces.

Included is a USB cable with MicroUSB plug and an Apple 30 pin connector as well as an Apple Lightning connector. I do not own an Apple product that uses the Lightning connector and was therefore unable to test it.

NOTE: I have read that Apple, in the release of IOS7, is blocking the ability of third-party, unauthorized Lightning connectors from working. I contacted the company to ask if this Lightning connector is certified... it is not. I do not know if this connector is going to be affected by Apple's action to block third-party, non-certified Lightning connectors from working or not.

There are two USB outputs. One of the outputs provides 2.1A while the other is a 1A output.

The battery is charged via a MicroUSB cable that can be connected to a computer USB port or an AC charger.

A set of 4 LED's indicate how much power remains in the battery pack when the power button is pressed.

LED indicators
- 4 indicates 75%-100% charge
- 3 indicates 50-75% charge
- 2 indicates 25-50% charge
- 1 indicates less than 25% charge

I do like the fact that this battery pack can charge two devices simultaneously.

The performance of the battery pack was disappointing. The best battery packs are able to charge my iPhone4 at the rate of 1% per minute or 10% per 10 minutes. The PLEMO Ultra Thin was only charging my iPhone4 at the rate of 6% per 10 minutes. That is quite a bit slower than many other powerbanks I've tested.

Another disappointment for me was how tight the USB connections were. It took a good amount of force for me to plug and unplug the USB cable into the USB ports.

Finally, it is not possible to simultaneously charge the battery pack while it is powering or charging another device. Some powerbanks do have this ability.

Overall I like the form factor of this powerbank but unfortunately the charging efficiency did not impress me. If you are willing to settle for slower charging times and like the form factor, this is a nice powebank for the money (about 30 bucks at the time I write this).

I was provided a complimentary sample for testing and review. If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I'll answer if I am able to.
