The Rekan Multifuncion Vacuum Flask is at first glance a pretty nice double-walled thermos.

It comes with two different caps and a cap/cup that fits over the smaller of the caps.

It's not a glass thermos inside so it's not fragile. It appears to be stainless steel. It has two different caps both of which use silicone seals and they seem quite excellent at keeping liquid in the thermos (no leaks) when properly closed and locked. One of the caps is more of a sports sipping cap while the other is more of a pouring spout type of cap. Both have secure spring-loaded locks. And there is a cap/cup that fits over and screws to the thermos for the smaller of the two caps (the pour type cap.)
I was impressed at how well the thermos insuated hot water. I started with 203.9 degree water in the thermos and closed the cap. After an hour the measured temperature was 188.4 degrees. After 6 hours, the temperature of the water was 150.3 degrees. I consider that to be excellent and you will get similar results with cold water.

So what's not to like? I was dismayed to discover that the thermos did not fit in any of the cup holders in 3 different vehicles that I attempted to fit it in. That's not to say it won't fit in all car cup holders, but it won't fit in many. The diameter of the base of the thermos is 3.5"

I also had somewhat of a problem screwing the caps on the thermos. It was difficult for me to "find" the thread and it felt like I was nearly cross-threading the cap even though I was not. It just wasn't a very robust thread and you have to be careful or you could easily end up actually cross-threading the caps onto the thermos.

I think the thermos is OK. It has some good qualitites and some not so desireable qualities. While the bottle seems to be decent, the plastic caps do seem a little flimsy and only time will tell if they prove to hold up with use.

I was provided a complimentary sample thermos for review and testing by the seller.
