Review Apple Mfi-certified Battery 2400mah Charger & Case for Iphone5 & 5s

Review Apple Mfi-certified Battery 2400mah Charger & Case for Iphone5 & 5s

If there is a problem with most battery packs, it's that it is an additional "thing" that you need to remeber to bring with you. So what if that "thing" were simply part of your iPhone? That's the beauty of this nicely designed 2400mAh battery pack. It's both a battery and case for your iPhone5. It will effectively double the time you can use your iPhone before needing to be charged. It does this without adding appreciable bulk or thickness to your iPhone. In fact, it is so well designed that it seems like it's naturally part of your iPhone... like it always was there.

Your iPhone simply slips onto the built-in Lightning connector in the charger base. What is extremely important to understand is that this is a Certified by Apple lightning connector. Many third-party Lightning connectors no longer work with Apple devices because Apple has rendered them inoperable by updating the IOS. That won't happen with this Lightning connector because it is Apple certified.
Once your iPhone is connected to the Lightning connector you then select one of the frames to go around the iPhone and basically connect it securely to the base. Two frames are included; a clear frame and a smoke/gray colored frame. Both frames have cutouts around all the buttons, camera lens and flash. Where the heaphone jack is becomes a deep well due to the thickness of the bottom part of the case, but no worries because the kit also includes an extension cable just for that purpose. It's a short 3" extension cable to allow you to use headphones or external wired speakers to the iPhone.

Another great feature is that the battery in the case is charged using a MicroUSB cable (included) instead of a Lightning connector. If you've priced Lightning connectors you'll quickly realize what an advantage this is. Also included is a really small AC power adapter with a folding plug. This makes it easy to carry in a pocket if you need to. The AC adapter is 100-240V, 50/60Hz which makes it useable Internationally. You don't have to use the AC adapter to charge the battery either, you can also use any USB port, like from your computer. It may take longer to fully charge, but it can be done.

The only weak spot of this case is the little "kickstand" on the back side that enables you to have your iPhone in an angled landscape orientation for more convenient viewing of the screen for movies or whatever. It's a little tricky to pull out of the case and is what I would call flimsy. It won't surprise me if it snaps right off one of these days.

On the whole, this is a very slick battery pack/case for the iPhone 5. I actually like how it looks and how well it fits to the iPhone. It doesn't look at all like you've added anything to your phone because it looks like it is your phone. It isn't adding much weight, it's comfortable to hold and adds just a bit of length but hardly noticeable.

I was provided a sample for review.
